Lancashire charity founder shortlisted for award
Shelley Perry, director of SEED - the Support and Education for Eating Disorders charity – has been shortlisted for the Nursing Times Nurse Leader of the Year award for her role within Breathe Therapies, the charity’s treatment arm.
The award aims to recognise an exceptional nurse leader who leads by example, provides their team with an excellent role model, demonstrating compassion and a commitment to ensuring their ward or unit offers the highest quality and safest care possible.

Hide AdShelley said: “It’s an honour to have been shortlisted for this award, the work we do at Breathe Therapies to support SEED is something I am incredibly passionate about.
“I believe people follow by example so if I can show them the best way and they follow that, it’s our patients who will benefit.
“To be named alongside nominees from large health trusts and care home groups is truly humbling and this shortlist doesn’t just recognise me, but the entire team behind me.”
Breathe Therapies delivers therapeutic interventions for people suffering with eating disorders, weight management, obesity, and psychological issues.

The winners of the award will be announced at a ceremony in London on Wednesday.
