South Ribble Police have recovered a machete from a parkland in Leyland.

The hidden machete was found as part of Operation Sceptre - a national campaign aimed at tackling knife crime.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Through links in the community this machete was recovered from parkland on the Broadfield Estate.

"It had been hidden away and thanks to a member of the public, it was seized before it could be used to cause anyone harm. Thank you and stay safe."
