RSPCA offers to board flood victims’ pets
Specially trained water rescue teams from the RSPCA have helped rescue both people and animals since the disaster started at the weekend.
Now that the water appears to be receding and the clean-up has started the organisation is offering pet boarding to people who have been made homeless.

Hide AdRSPCA chief inspector Rob Melloy said: “This is a terribly stressful time for people who have lost everything and we want to make life a little bit easier for them.
“We have secured places at kennels and catteries to look after pets of people who have moved into temporary accommodation and can’t take their animals with them.
“Hopefully this will prevent animals being kept in unsuitable conditions and will stop people from staying in damp homes with no power and water because they’ve got nowhere to take their pets.
“We will help people until they get themselves back on their feet and can be reunited with their pets again.”
