University brings campus back into the city by demand
Campus in the City, an initiative which brings cutting-edge University research to the residents is back for the third time by popular demand.
The project, hosted by Lancaster University, packs a wealth of academic work and student life into a shop unit in St Nicholas Arcades in Lancaster.

Hide AdThis year’s event starts on March 12 with a technology day offering people the chance to explore a Minecraft version of the University campus, experience virtual reality and interact with an iPad robot.
Professor Mark E. Smith, the Vice-Chancellor of Lancaster University said: “A university should be representative of the region it comes from and should seek to engage with that region.
“As a university, we are very much a part of Lancaster and I think that the buzz generated on campus and in the community by the Campus in the City project demonstrates that.”
Manager of St Nicholas Arcades Paul Smith said: “I am very pleased to welcome Campus in the City to St Nicholas Arcades.

Event co-manager Lindsey King added: “We are really looking forward to the third Campus in the City and to moving into our new location. Everyone is welcome to come along, join in and find out more about some of the amazing things we do at the University.”
Activities planned for the next few weeks will include pop-up art exhibitions, a chance to take a look at the university’s student-built racing car and cookery demonstrations.
