Alan Irvine is backing his Preston North End players to bounce back from the painful derby defeat to Burnley when they host Swansea at Deepdale tonight.
The PNE boss believes a swift return to action is far better than having a full week to mull over the 3-1 reverse, and is confident events at Turf Moor will be out of Preston's system by the time they tackle Roberto Martinez's side.
Irvine admits to being 'hurt' by the Burnley defeat and seems likely to make changes for this evening's clash, some enforced and others voluntary.
One switch will see Jay McEveley make his debut at left-back after signing on a month's loan from Derby.
He replaces Michael Hart who is facing a number of weeks on the sidelines with ankle ligament damage sustained in the first half on Saturday, although X-rays have confirmed no bone fracture.
Richard Chaplow has also joined Hart in the treatment room, the midfielder suffering from a hamstring strain.
Irvine told the Evening Post: "My job has been to pick the lads up after the Burnley game.
"It has hurt everybody here. I know some people look from the outside and think a defeat doesn't hurt us, but it does.
"It was important we got back to work quickly, we did so by training on Sunday morning and then having a really good
session yesterday.
"When we went six games undefeated I wasn't getting too carried away, and it's important we don't over react when we lose. We have to be as calm in making decisions when you lose, as you would when you have won a match. Obviously tonight I have to make some changes because we've lost Hart, Davidson and Chaplow.
"I will look again at the whole squad – there will be changes but I won't go overboard either."
