Preston North End boss Alan Irvine is confident his team will bounce back against Watford tomorrow despite seeing his side lose three games on the run.
North End have dropped five places in the league following Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat to Swansea which leaves them ninth in the Championship table.

But the Scot hailed his side's attitude in training yesterday saying that they were both focused and determined.

He told LEPTV: "I came in wondering whether I would have a meeting with the players or not - and I decided it wasn't necessary because of the way they turned up at training and the way that they performed in the training session.

"I expect them to respond in a very positive way - they have been stung by what happened the other night.

"I'm still upset about it now but we have to move on. We can't linger on it, we have to learn from it and prove ourselves from it and move on."

THe same thing was said last Monday prior to the Swansea game and yet barring JOnes, Mawene and Wee Baz no-one else turned up.

Ledger and Mawene are looking VERY TIRED which is causing them to make mistakes which are getting punished. Ledger has looked uncharacteristically poor in the last 3 games. Possibly due to no competition with no other CB's and no backup to rotate them from tiredness and injury.

Midfield has looked dreadful since we have lost Chappers and Alan's persistence to stick with Carter.

I'm still undecided on the 2 goals that have been scored from 30+ yards in recent games but i think Andy needs quality competition to keep him on his toes and progress his game further so he is always on his mettle.

What the last few games has shown us is that we simply do not have the squad capable of challenging for automatic and when we get a few injuries to key players we don't have people of sufficient skill and ability to replace them.

We also do not have a striker.

Tomorrow is a big game and i would be happy with 1 poin now to stop the run of defeats.

I am not for one minute trying to undermine Alan or have a go but i feel what i have said above is true and correct and is why we won't finish in the top 2-3 this year.

I was gutted by the dispay against Swansea!! WE hoofed it!! But in AI we trust!!!The Swans played like we did a few games ago!! I will be listening on Radio Lancs tomorrow and come on PNE!!! Wish I could be at the match but I have to work 5 Saturdays in 13!! So my message to The PNE Players is that you have a fantastic job so give it your all!! Because all those fans who will be supporting you at Waford have spent lots of money to follow you so 110% is required!!!

The players were stung even harder by he hornets on Saturday...

Time for some changes...

Lonnergan

Jones
Mawene (Chilvers ASAP)
St. Legend
Davidson

Wallace
Nicholson
Chaplow
Sedgwick

Brown
Elliot

Bench:
Chris Neal (One more stupid mistake from Lonners and get Neal on)
Mellor
McKenna
Whaley
Hawley
Jarrett

We need Hart, Davidson, Henderson and Chilvers fit as soon as possible. Time to offload Parkin (rubbish) and Ormerod and bring in a proven goal scorer
