The 500 or so away fans travelled to Norwich in hope rather than expectation, but we weren’t to be disappointed.

It felt like it was going to be a long day after going behind inside two minutes, but we showed the fight and spirit you want to see from a Preston North End team.

You almost expected us to roll over and lose by a few but that certainly wasn’t to be the case.

We dusted ourselves down and took the game to a side who’ve spent millions of pounds after relegation.

It was the sort of performance we’d grown accustomed to under Alex Neil but hadn’t seen enough of in recent years.

It was a game plan that took guts from Ryan Lowe.

By no means did we sit back at 1-1 and hold on to what we had.

We kept asking questions of the Norwich defence and eventually got our reward.

The high energy we showed couldn’t be contained by Norwich at times and it was a refreshing change from the last couple of weeks.

Alvaro Fernandez keeps getting better and better and once again he was the catalyst for a great away performance.

Every man ran themselves into the ground though and it shows we are more than capable of competing with the teams at the top on our day.

Ryan Lowe mentioned a sickness bug had been going through the squad, which made the effort and performance even more impressive.

The hard part now is backing this result up and keeping the momentum going.

To often we pull out a great result and then let ourselves down in the next game. This has to be the the kickstart our season needed.
