Preston North End's recent record at Brentford's Griffin Park doesn't make for happy reading but the PNE team of 1988/89 enjoyed the trip.

They beat the Bees 2-0 on October 22, 1988, the win part of an eight-match unbeaten run they put together in Third Division action.

Both PNE goals in West London that afternoon came from Gary Brazil.

They had been outplayed by Brentford in the first half, the hosts hitting the woodwork twice and denied on three occasions by goalkeeper David Brown.

Brazil was back in the squad after serving a three-match suspension for a red card at Notts County the previous month.

In the first half, Brentford's record buy Richard Cadette twice saw shots come back of the bar.

The flow of the game was flipped on its head just a few minutes after Brazil's arrival on the pitch.

He latched on to a flick from Tony Ellis to brush past two defenders and fire a low left-foot shot into the net.

Brazil's second goal mid way through the second half was a spectacular effort.
