Bosses at Tesco apologised to a customer who found a 3cm scorpion in a bunch of bananas.
Eddie Collins spotted the scorpion after buying fruit at a store in Royston, Herts.
The bananas had been imported from the Dominican Republic.
Mr Collins put the scorpion - which was harmless - in a box and handed it in at a nearby wildlife park.
